Sugar Rush Overview
Sugar Rush from Pragmatic Play drops you into a vibrant candy wonderland with a 7x7 grid brimming with colourful sweets. This cluster pays slot has become a firm favourite among Irish players thanks to its unique multiplier spots mechanic and the potential for massive wins during tumble sequences.
Instead of traditional paylines, Sugar Rush uses a cluster pays system where you need to land five or more matching symbols in a connected cluster (horizontally or vertically adjacent) to form a winning combination. The 7x7 grid means there are 49 symbol positions on every spin, creating plenty of opportunities for large clusters to form.
After every winning cluster, the winning symbols are removed and new ones tumble down to fill the gaps. This cascade continues as long as new winning clusters form, and the multiplier spots mechanic means each successive win can be worth significantly more than the last.
Multiplier Spots Mechanic
The multiplier spots feature is what makes Sugar Rush truly special and separates it from other cluster pays slots. Every position on the 7x7 grid can become a multiplier spot. When a winning cluster is removed, each position where a winning symbol sat has its multiplier increased by one level.
The multiplier values progress through a sequence: 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, and 64x. If the same grid position is part of multiple winning clusters during a single spin's tumble sequence, its multiplier keeps climbing. When a subsequent winning cluster lands on a position that already has a multiplier, that multiplier is applied to the win.
Multiple multipliers on different positions within the same winning cluster are added together before being applied. This is where the truly enormous wins come from — when several high multiplier spots align with a single large cluster, the payout can be extraordinary.
Free Spins and Bonus Features
Landing three or more scatter symbols triggers the free spins round, awarding 10 free spins. During free spins, the multiplier spots from the base game carry over and continue to grow. This means the longer your free spins session lasts, the higher the multipliers across the grid become.
You can retrigger additional free spins by landing more scatter symbols during the bonus round. Each retrigger adds more spins to your session, giving the multipliers even more time to build. The accumulation of multipliers across the entire free spins round is the primary source of Sugar Rush's biggest payouts.
Sugar Rush also includes a Buy Bonus feature that allows you to purchase direct entry into the free spins round for 100x your stake. Given the potential for accumulated multipliers, this can be an attractive option for players who prefer to cut straight to the high-action phase of the game.
Theme and Design
The candy theme is executed with Pragmatic Play's characteristic polish. The grid sits against a backdrop of candy clouds and lollipop trees, with bright pastel colours dominating the visual palette. Symbols include various types of sweets — gummy bears, lollipops, candy canes, and sugar-coated treats — each rendered in vivid detail.
The soundtrack is upbeat and playful, with celebratory audio cues accompanying wins and escalating intensity during tumble sequences. While the candy theme is undeniably cheerful, the high volatility means the gameplay itself carries genuine tension, especially when multiplier spots begin stacking during free spins.
